CIT Judge Backs Importer In Hand Truck Duty Feud

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009, 5:36 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has moved Bond Street Ltd., an importer of business and travel products, a step closer to overturning an anti-dumping duty imposed on its luggage carts, ordering the U.S. Department of Commerce to revisit the scope of the duty covering imports of Chinese hand trucks.

Judge Delissa A. Ridgway of the U.S. Court of International Trade vacated the Commerce Department’s initial decision that Bond Street’s Stebco luggage cart qualifies for a steep anti-dumping duty, and remanded the issue to the agency for reconsideration....
