Aussie Dept Store Myer To File IPO; Could Hit $2.2B

Law360, New York (September 11, 2009, 5:51 PM EDT) -- Australian department store chain Myer Pty Ltd. has announced plans to file an initial public offering by the end of September, which could reportedly rake in as much as $2.2 billion.

Myer announced its plans Friday to immediately begin the pre-registration process for an IPO along with its financial results for the 2009 financial year ending in July. The company said it intends to lodge a prospectus offering Myer shares with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission on or around Sept. 28.
