Appeals Court Puts Nokia, Qualcomm Suit On Hold

Law360, New York (October 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court panel has put a patent infringement suit between Qualcomm Inc. and Nokia Corp. on hold until the U.S. District Court in San Diego can decide whether arbitration is warranted.

Overturning the lower court decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Friday that a correct inquiry into whether the two telecommunications giants should enter arbitration has not yet been performed.
