Mattress Maker Aero Awarded $4M In Patent, Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (April 1, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Inflatable mattress maker Aero Products International has won $3.9 million in a patent infringement suit against two of its rivals.

The jury verdict, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, found that Intex Recreation Corp. and Quality Trading Inc., both based in California, copied Aero Products’ patented mattress valve that opens and closes automatically.

The competitors also illegally used Aero Product’s “One Touch” trademark, the court ruled. The suit was pending since 2002.
