Judge Stands By 'Greedy, Arrogant Hogs' Remark

Law360, New York (September 16, 2009, 3:39 PM EDT) -- A judge presiding over the Energy Partners Ltd. bankruptcy case has refused to amend a harshly worded opinion that prevented the official committee of unsecured noteholders from hiring investment bank Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin Inc.

The noteholders committee and Houlihan Lokey had filed a joint motion in response to the opinion, saying that although the circumstances of the case eventually obviated the need for a financial adviser, the judge's unwarranted attack should not stand.
