Former Sunbelt Exec To Head Back To Jail

Law360, New York (October 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former chairman of Sunbelt Savings Association, having already been convicted of stealing millions from the savings and loan in the 1980s, was sentenced a second time around on Friday for not paying his court-ordered restitution.

Edwin T. McBirney III now faces spending eight years in prison, in addition to paying $312,000 in restitution and forfeiting more than $2 million in assets from his Oslin Nation Trust.
