Medco Settles Fraud, Kickback Charges For $155M

Law360, New York (October 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Prescription-benefits manager Medco Health Solutions has agreed to pay $155 million plus interest to settle fraud and kickback charges in a whistleblower case, the Justice Department said Monday.

Prosecutors had accused the company of submitting false claims to the government, soliciting and accepting kickbacks from drug makers to favor their drugs, and paying kickbacks to health plans to obtain business.
