Deal Reached In Upstate NY Superfund Cleanup Suit

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 6:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and two companies that once owned a paper manufacturing plant in upstate New York on Thursday reached an agreement in principle in a lawsuit seeking to recover around $500,000 in cleanup costs for the Superfund site.

The EPA sent a letter to Judge Randolph F. Treese of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York asking the judge to postpone a scheduling conference set for Oct. 8 while the final terms of a consent decree are hammered out...
