Federal Court Tosses Safeclick’s Claims In Visa Spat

Law360, New York (October 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Marking the latest development in a long-running battle over a patent for protecting the security of online transactions, the Federal Circuit has upheld a lower court’s decision to toss claims brought by Safeclick against Visa International.

The ruling, handed down on Monday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, affirmed a December 2005 district court decision granting Visa’s motion for summary judgment of non-infringement.
