Settlements OK'd In 12 Suits By Alliance Trustee

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 6:41 PM EDT) -- A judge has signed off on settlements in a dozen suits over alleged preferential transfers in the bankruptcy of mortgage lender Alliance Bancorp, allowing for the recovery of about 13 percent of the amounts sought from parties including Anthem Blue Cross Life & Health Insurance Co. and accounting firm Marcum & Kliegman LLP.
