Oracle Thwarted On New Claims In SAP Saga

Law360, New York (September 21, 2009, 5:41 PM EDT) -- Oracle Corp. has been slapped with sanctions after trying to introduce new damages claims in a long-standing copyright case alleging German software firm SAP AG illegally accessed and stole programming related to Oracle's PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards lines.

Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Laporte on Sept. 17 granted SAP's motion to stop the plaintiffs from introducing new evidence of damages stemming from alleged lost profits.
