US Fights Bid To Bar New Duties On Chinese Furniture

Law360, New York (September 24, 2009, 12:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government has fired back over American Signature Inc.'s request for a preliminary injunction against reassessed anti-dumping duties on wooden bedroom furniture from China, arguing that it would amount to a “significant windfall” for the importer.

In an opposition motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, the government asked the court to deny a motion by American Signature to prevent officials from calculating new duty rates for wooden bedroom furniture imported from China in 2006.
