Dewey Stands To Boost IP Practice With Merger

Law360 (October 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dewey Ballantine LLP stands to significantly improve its intellectual property practice by merging with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, if the merger is approved by both firms’ partnerships.

Following the trend of law firm consolidation, the two firms disclosed on Wednesday that they were in talks to merge.

Dewey has over 20 practicing attorneys in its intellectual property transactions and technology group, while Orrick boasts more than 120 attorneys in that practice area.
