SEC Won't Lay Down Sword In Merchant Capital Feud

Law360, New York (September 25, 2009, 5:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is appealing portions of a July summary judgment ruling favorable to now-defunct investment firm Merchant Capital LLC, which the agency has been pursuing since November 2002 over fraud claims.

In a filing Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the SEC signaled its appeal of the July 28 ruling by Judge Marvin Shoob.
