SC Johnson Employees Seek Cert. In ERISA Suit

Law360, New York (September 28, 2009, 4:12 PM EDT) -- A group of former SC Johnson & Son Inc. employees has moved for class certification in suit accusing the household cleaning supplies company of violating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by underpaying lump sum payments in its employee benefits plan.

The plaintiffs filed for class certification Friday, urging Judge J.P. Stadtmueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin to approve a lawsuit that they called “perfectly suited” for class action adjudication.
