Leading Tech Companies Apply For Open Peer Review

Law360, New York (October 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Companies holding more than 6% of the total number of this year’s patents have agreed to submit their patent applications for “open peer review.”

The New York Law School said Tuesday that the pilot project at the United States Patent and Trademark Office has gained powerful supporters in General Electric Co., IBM Corp., Hewlett Packard Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Red Hat Inc. These companies will be the lead sponsors of the Community Patent Review initiative.
