Danone, Wahaha To Part Ways Amid IP Tangle

Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 4:25 PM EDT) -- After years of bickering, French dairy company Groupe Danone SA said Wednesday it would sell off its stake in Chinese beverage giant Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co. as part of a settlement that will put an end to a quagmire of litigation between the companies stemming from alleged trademark infringement and breach of contract.

Under the terms of the deal, Danone and Wahaha will conclude their existing joint venture relationships, with the French company agreeing to sell its 51 percent interest in Wahaha to its Chinese partners....
