Mesaba Reaches Concessions Deals With Workers

Law360, New York (October 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankrupt airline Mesaba Aviation Inc. was able to reach tentative deals on labor concessions with its pilots and flight attendants over the weekend, just days after a bankruptcy judge blocked the unions’ right to strike.

Mesaba, a feeder carrier for Northwest Airlines Corp., had previously received court permission to impose pay cuts on its pilots, flight attendants and mechanics.

The agreements, which are subject to approval by the attendants and pilots, will help the airline reduce costs and exit bankruptcy protection, Mesaba said.
