Intel, U of Wis. Settle Data Patent Feud On Eve Of Trial

Law360, New York (October 5, 2009, 12:18 PM EDT) -- Two weeks after Intel Corp. came out on the short end of a key pretrial ruling in a data patent feud with a research arm of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the computer chip giant and the university have announced a confidential settlement.

Details of Saturday's deal, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, were not made public.

Both the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, which filed the suit in February 2008, and Intel declined to comment on Monday except to confirm the deal...
