$7.8M Settlement Over NC Chemical Fire Approved

Law360, New York (October 6, 2009, 6:41 PM EDT) -- Residents of Apex, N.C., who were forced to evacuate their homes due to a 2006 fire at a chemical plant owned by EQ Industrial Services Inc. that blanketed the town in a layer of chlorine gas have won final approval of a nearly $7.8 million settlement.

Judge W. Earl Britt approved the settlement during a Tuesday morning hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
