Setback For Orrick In Former Associate's Lawsuit

Law360 (October 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sixteen months after a laid-off IP associate sued his previous employer, Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, a New York judge has rejected the law firm’s attempt to disqualify the man's counsel from the case.

Orrick argued unsuccessfully that attorney Douglas H. Wigdor, of Thompson Wigdor & Gilly in New York, should be removed from the case because he was once consulted by another former Orrick associate who sued the firm.
