Perelman Loses Bid To Retry Coleman Case

Law360, New York (October 7, 2009, 6:16 PM EDT) -- A Florida appeals court has turned down billionaire Ronald Perelman's bid to retry a $1.6 billion case against Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. over the sale of camping supply manufacturer Coleman Co.

The Fourth District Court of Appeal on Wednesday affirmed a lower court's decision to deny a motion by Coleman (Parent) Holdings Inc. to set aside judgment in the matter.

CPH, which is controlled by Perelman, had sought a new trial based on its claim that Morgan Stanley committed fraud.
