High Court Hears From Critics Of Mountaintop Mining

Law360, New York (October 8, 2009, 6:38 PM EDT) -- Nonprofit conservation group Trout Unlimited is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to take up a case in which the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition claims the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers abused its discretion when it issued four permits allowing mountaintop mining outfits to fill headwater streams.

Trout Unlimited filed an amicus brief with the nation's highest court at the end of September urging the court to grant the petition for certiorari OVEC filed in August.
