First Personal Injury Suit Brought Over Plavix

Law360 (October 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- On the same day that generic maker Apotex begged the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals to allow it to make a copycat version of the drug Plavix, two plaintiffs firms Tuesday served Plavix makers Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sanofi-Aventis with the first personal injury lawsuit over the drug.

The personal injury suit alleges that the two pharmaceutical companies misled the public and hid the risks of the blood thinner.
