Utube Sues YouTube For Infringement

Law360, New York (November 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- It may seem hard to confuse a tube and pipe machine supplier with an online video service. But a lawsuit filed on Monday claims 70,000 people do that every day, and the supplier is more than a little fed up.

Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment Corp., the owner of the domain name utube.com, sued recent Google Inc. acquisition YouTube Inc. for trademark infringement and unfair competition, among other charges. uTube claims that thousands confuse their Web site with youtube.com.
