Ampex Loses Out in Camera Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (November 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Digital photography company Ampex Corp. was dealt a blow Tuesday in its patent infringement suit after a U.S. judge sided with Eastman Kodak Co.

The judge awarded Kodak’s request for summary judgment of noninfringement in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, finding that its digital cameras did not infringe Ampex’ patent.

“Ampex is reviewing the judge's memorandum opinion and considering what action to take in view of this decision, including possible appeal after entry of final judgment,” Ampex stated Tuesday.
