Audible Magic Launches Tool To Block P2P Piracy

Law360, New York (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Audible Magic Corp. Tuesday on Tuesday introduced a copyright-sensing device that allows network administrators to block copyrighted peer-to-peer files.

Operating in a manner similar to anti-virus programs, Audible Magic's CopySense Network Appliance lets network administrators monitor and log file-sharing usage and control activities by blocking transfers of copyrighted material, limiting file-sharing traffic based on bandwidth needs, and establishing rules for downloads and uploads, the company said in a statement.
