SC Urges High Court To Nix 3rd Parties In Water Spat

Law360, New York (October 13, 2009, 7:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday in South Carolina's suit against North Carolina over water rights, in which the Palmetto State is seeking to exclude Duke Energy Corp. and other third parties from taking part.

South Carolina argued that the special master overseeing the case should not have allowed Duke Energy; the city of Charlotte, N.C.; and the Catawba River Water Supply Project to intervene in the suit.
