Krispy Kreme Agrees To Shell Out And Settle Suits

Law360, New York (November 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Beleaguered Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. said Tuesday that it had reached a settlement with those who brought a securities class action lawsuit and a shareholder derivative suit against the company.

The company said it had entered into agreements with the lead plaintiffs in the suits in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the court approves the settlement in the securities class action, those who bought stock between March 2001 and April 2005 will receive approximately $75 million, including an almost $35 million...
