High Court's Title VII Ruling Reaches Beyond LGBTQ Rights

Clayton County, Georgia, made the front-page news for its ringing pronunciation — by none other than Justice Neil Gorsuch — that gay, lesbian and transgender employees are protected under Title VII, the federal employment discrimination statute. 

But, this decision is a sleeper in some respects, since it is also of much broader significance to a wide range of other protected classes that have long been recognized under the federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws.
