Court Nixes Buffalo Firefighters Arbitration Award

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 3:02 PM EDT) -- New York's highest court has vacated an arbitration award in a case involving a labor dispute between firefighters and the city of Buffalo.

An appellate court had vacated the health insurance portion of the award, which favored the city, but the New York Court of Appeals ruled on Thursday that the award should be vacated in its entirety, including the wage portion, which favored the union.
