10th Circ. OKs Defiant $2M Award For Legal Abuse

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 7:14 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a $2 million award granted to Defiant Technologies after it convinced a jury that rival Nanodetex Corp. wanted to derail Defiant's business plan and bully it into merging by tying it up in baseless breach of contract litigation.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit ruled Thursday that it wouldn't overturn the award after viewing the case in the light most deferential to the jury's verdict.
