Oil Services Co. Must Pay £3.6M Or Risk Losing Its Bank Case

Law360, London (July 14, 2020, 5:55 PM BST) -- A London judge ordered a Nigerian oil services provider to return the roughly £3.6 million ($4.5 million) that First City Monument Bank paid for a now-overturned judgment, saying continued defiance could cost the company a chance to pursue an amended claim.

High Court Judge Robert Miles rejected Zumax Nigeria Ltd.'s claim that it couldn't pay the amount required under a 2019 Court of Appeals decision and would be denied justice if it couldn't pursue its case against First City over a series of bank transfers it says are unaccounted for.
