Feds Secure $3M Settlement For Calif. Landfill Cleanup

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009, 6:06 PM EDT) -- A series of companies and local governments have agreed to pay nearly $3 million combined to help clean up a former landfill on U.S. Forest Service lands near Lake Tahoe, Calif.

The federal government filed a motion Monday that asked the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California to approve a proposed consent decree, which would resolve claims against eight third-party defendants.
