Cedars-Sinai Patient Sues For Radiation Overexposure

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009, 6:48 PM EDT) -- A Cedars-Sinai Medical Center patient who claims he received eight times the approved dosage of radiation during a CT scan has hit the nonprofit hospital and the maker of the scanner, GE Healthcare Technologies Inc., with a proposed class action.

Trevor Rees lodged his complaint Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing the hospital, GE Healthcare and 200 unnamed business entities and individuals of medical malpractice, strict product liability, negligence and breach of warranty in their operation of the CT brain perfusion scan machines used to...
