Ford Loses Bid To Halt Review Of Old Drawback Claims

Law360, New York (October 21, 2009, 1:41 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Court of International Trade judge has denied a motion by Ford Motor Co. to preliminarily enjoin the U.S. from continuing to review and liquidate outdated drawback claims the carmaker insists have already been liquidated.

Judge Evan J. Wallach did not reveal his reasoning for the denial in an order following a hearing Tuesday in the ongoing case.

Ford sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection in September, saying it should not have to repay the government for drawback claims...
