Cemex, Other Cement Cos. Hit With Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (October 22, 2009, 2:44 PM EDT) -- Cemex Corp. and other major cement and concrete suppliers have been hit with a proposed class action by a group of construction and building materials companies alleging price-fixing in Florida.

The plaintiffs filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, claiming that the cement producers engaged in a conspiracy to fix the prices of cement at supracompetitive levels in Florida by agreeing on the amount and timing of price increases and allocating customers and markets among themselves.
