Doc Production Ordered In Morgan Lewis Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 2:20 PM EDT) -- A federal court has ordered electronic billboard maker Landmark Screens LLC to turn over documents related to causation in a case accusing Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and one of its former attorneys of fraudulently concealing a divisional patent rejection notice.

Magistrate Judge Howard Lloyd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued an order Wednesday ruling that, because proving causation is a requirement in a fraud claim, the plaintiffs implicitly waived attorney-client privilege in relation to such documents.
