House Greenlights New R&D Roadmap For Solar Power

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 1:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives has signed off on a bill laying the groundwork for a new national solar technology research, development and demonstration plan designed to tap private-sector resources and make solar power tools more affordable and commercially accessible for end users.

Representatives voted Thursday to approve the Solar Technology Roadmap Act, 310-106, with 63 Republicans joining 247 Democrats in favor of the bill, introduced by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz.
