FTC Gunning For Intel: Report

Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 6:16 PM EDT) -- U.S. antitrust authorities are reportedly close to filing a lawsuit against Intel Corp., following the European Union’s record-breaking fine against the microprocessor giant this year.

U.S. regulators are examining Intel’s microprocessor business for potential antitrust violations, Reuters reported Friday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

The newswire reported that three of the four commissioners of the Federal Trade Commission, the agency conducting the probe, are in favor of filing a complaint against Intel.
