FDA Warns Bausch & Lomb After Plant Inspection

Law360, New York (November 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bausch & Lomb Inc. said Monday that it has received a warning letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration over a fungal eye infection outbreak that allegedly came from its contact lens solution.

According to the company, the FDA inspected its Greenville, S.C., plant from March 22 to May 15. Over that time period, it did not identify any conditions that contributed to or caused the Fusarium keratitis infections, though it did say certain issues needed to be addressed, Bausch & Lomb said.
