Ending Strike, Mechanics Pen Deal With Northwest

Law360, New York (November 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Putting an end to a 444-day strike, mechanics at beleaguered Northwest Airlines have agreed to accept a settlement offer with the carrier, the union representing Northwest's mechanics and technicians said Monday.

More than 72% of the Northwest mechanics, cleaners and custodians who voted gave the nod to the deal, according to the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association.
