Pittsburgh Hospital Calls For Sanctions In FLSA Action

Law360, New York (October 27, 2009, 2:15 PM EDT) -- A member of a Pittsburgh-area hospital system targeted in a collective action over meal break pay practices has asked a federal judge to levy sanctions against plaintiffs counsel Thomas & Solomon LLP for sending mailings to potential plaintiffs allegedly in violation of a court order.

The motion, filed Monday by Pittsburgh Mercy Health System Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, is the latest in what has become a contentious dispute in several related lawsuits against the region's hospitals.
