Fired Dorsey M&A Partner Commits Suicide

Law360, New York (October 27, 2009, 6:06 PM EDT) -- A former Dorsey & Whitney LLP mergers and acquisitions partner fired amid an insider trading probe has reportedly committed suicide.

Gil I. Cornblum was found dead Monday on the eve of an announcement that he had settled insider trading allegations, the Globe and Mail in Toronto reported Tuesday.

A representative of the Toronto Police Service declined comment on the reported suicide Tuesday.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cornblum family,” said Bob Kleiber, a spokesman for Dorsey & Whitney.
