Delphi Sues Methode Over Airbag Technology

Law360, New York (November 3, 2009, 7:25 PM EST) -- Delphi Automotive Systems has accused Methode Electronics Inc. of taking advantage of a sole-supplier arrangement by forcing Delta to pay drastically higher prices for airbag actuation system equipment and asserting a patent developed using proprietary information gained from their relationship.

Delphi and Methode entered into a long-term contract in 2001 that made Methode the sole supplier of bladders used in Delphi's passive occupant detection system sensor technology, according to the complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The PODS...
