Constellation, EDF Clear Last Hurdle In $4.5B Nuke Deal

Law360, New York (November 2, 2009, 2:15 PM EST) -- Electricite de France International SA and Baltimore-based Constellation Energy Group Inc. finally made good on a $4.5 billion nuclear assets deal Monday, brushing aside concerns that a $100 million ratepayer rebate required by Maryland regulators would create a snag.

"EDF and Constellation Energy will complete the transaction without modification to the previously agreed terms of the transaction," the French company said Monday.

EDF will move its U.S. operations to Maryland as part of the deal, which has been in the works for some two years....
