Tyson Settles Race Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (November 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Tyson Foods Inc. agreed Tuesday to pay a total of $871,000 to 13 African-American employees to settle a race discrimination class action.

The suit was brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of the Ashland, Ala. chicken processing plant workers in August 2005.
