Stryker CEO Says DOJ Should End Price-Fixing Probe

Law360, New York (November 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Stryker Corp. chief executive officer Stephen MacMillan reportedly said on Wednesday that the government should “back off” of its probe of price-fixing allegations in the medical device industry and said the investigation was “a little bit like looking for weapons of mass destruction.”

MacMillan said that he has seen no signs or evidence of price-fixing between orthopedic device makers and that the U.S. Department of Justice’s probe of the industry was based on one isolated act, according to Reuters.
