Lack Of Jurisdiction Dooms Navaera Contract Suit

Law360, New York (November 4, 2009, 4:35 PM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed a suit brought by software company Navaera Sciences LLC accusing Acuity Forensic Inc. of breaching a sales agreement over the marketing of computer software, saying the court lacks personal jurisdiction.

Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday ruled that Acuity does not have sufficient business contacts in New York to allow for jurisdiction in the case.
