FTC Finds Mich. Realty Group Restricted Competition

Law360, New York (November 9, 2009, 6:11 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission has held that a Michigan-based real estate agents group violated federal law by restricting the publication of certain types of real estate listings within its own multiple listing services and other publicly available Web sites.

In the decision issued Nov. 2, the FTC reversed an administrative law judge's dismissal of claims that Realcomp II Ltd. violated Section 5 of the FTC Act, and directed Realcomp to provide its members nondiscriminatory access to nontraditional and lower-price listings on its multiple listing service, and...
